The Nottingham born actress is famous for her low-key and immensely powerful performances in British and American movies, in low budget indies and massive block-busting spectacles. We'll finally get the opportunity to see her supporting turn in Oren Moverman's The Messenger later this month and beyond that I'm most looking forward to Cosmopolis.

    I hear she was fantastic in Morvern Callar. never saw it. same in Control. didn't see that either.


    her performance in Sweet & Lowdown was rather sweet, but Cameron Diaz or Julianne Moore might've been more deserving for a Supporting Actress nomination.

    But then she should've got nominated for Minority Report, such a great supporting turn in a blockbuster effort.

    You should definitely catch up with Control - she is truly fantastic. (And I've worked with her vocal coach for the film)
