Amazingly Moody was only in his thities when he defined the role of Fagin in Lionel Bart's musical adaptation of Oliver Twist, later translating that success to the screen in 1968. Whilst that success was worthy he never managed to escape from the shadow, so there is little else on his CV to commend him - last seen in long running TV drama The Bill.

Ron belongs to that generation of broadway stars who transferred their hit performance to the screen and then were forever associated with that role, in his case Fagin in Oliver! It's a good performance but don't you ever wonder how good an actor he could have been if he didn't have that partiocular millstone around his neck?
