Hard to believe, but the first time I ever saw Sam Waterston was in the 1974 film "The Great Gatsby" (Robert Redford and Mia Farrow) in which he portrayed the character of Nick. He had a quiet, youthful sensitivity. Around the same time he played opposite Katharine Hepburn in the TV-Movie version of "The Glass Menagerie". Powerful work!
