I'm bracing myself for the comments now. In spite of the racebending casting furore and in spite of the appalling reviews for M. Night Shyalaman's latest epic you have to admit this trailer is pretty awesome. Do you think we can sue for false advertising?
The Last Airbender will be released on 13 August 2010.

His movies always have amazing teasers. Look at The Happening...the shit scared every single person in the theatre I saw it in.
so, I've seen The Sixth Sense (brilliant!!!), parts of Unbreakable (? is that the name), The Village (pretty lame, but not bad) and Lady in the Water (it totally sucked except for the cinematography and Bryce's look).
the happening had the coolest trailer, but i never saw it.
this trailer is ok, but... it doesn't really attract. however, months ago I did imagine some Oscar nominations for this in Sound Effects or whatever
I don't know what's wrong with this dude. maybe he should try some reeeeeally low budget stuff just for a breath of fresh air, which he really needs
Simon - I wonder who cuts his trailers because that's a guy who deserves an Oscar.
The awful thing is when we first heard that M. Night was trying something different by adapting an existing property we were all stoked because he had the opportunity to stretch himself. And now that's failed, with even the good pacing he normally brings being thrown to one side.
I hope he does do something he really wants to do next, but as you say Alex, a limited budget will probably be useful.
