These days Carol is always turning up in movies thank frankly she's too good for - Four Christmases, The Bounty Hunter - it seems those heady days when she had small but impactful roles in Annie Hall and Dog Day Afternoon are well gone. For crying out loud she got an oscar nod for Hester Street someone give her a decent part.

did anyone see Hester Street??? I found it impossible to find.
More of a curio than a great film, the cinematography and use of Yiddish make it stand out but underneath it's just the same story of women finding a way to exist in the world of men as so many over films from the 70's.
I'd send you a copy, but I'd hate for your postman to have Blue Veil and Hester Street, I doubt he deserves that!

Now if only you'd come to Manchester you could have popped over for a Hester Street themed evening.
There's a Jewish deli just around th corner so I could have stocked up on relevant snacks and maybe got hold of some useful yiddish phrases and drinking games.
Got to stop and move on I'm getting far to into his imaginery party...

Saw Carl Kane in the SF production of Wicked. I fell asleep except when she was on the stage, then I said out loud "That's Carol Kane!"
The peeps in front of me were less than amused.
Very impressive. How was she?
