Rod Lurie's remake of the 1971 Sam Pekinpah classic has performed appallingly at the US box office but it's hard to work out quite why. I don't it's a distaste of the material nor the high regard of the original tainting the idea of re-making but more likely to bit it's unsure advertising campaign, including this trailer which doesn't really sell the home invasion scenario half as much as it should do.
Straw Dogs is released on 04 November 2011.

Could be that no one is going to see this because it's just a bad film. In spite of my crush on James Marsden, I can't imagine him playing an avenger.
You could be right, and with 36% on Rotten Tomatoes I expect so.
I am curious though.
