without checking: isn't he the youngest Best Actor nominee ever? for Skippy? I might be wrong, but that's what the name suggested.

I'm pretty sure you are right. He was just 9 when he was given the nod.
Just 5 years later it would have been a Juvenile award, these days he'd probably be campaigned in supporting, so I expect it's a record that will always stand.
