Tuesday Trailers - You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger

I almost don't want to play this trailer. Not because it's bad, in fact as trailers go it has some nice moments which seem to indicate laughs can be had in Woody Allen's latest London set dramedy. Instead I'm reluctant as it only goes to reionforce the slightly masochistic relationship I've developed with Allen. No matter how much he disappoints me, how many Whatever Works he produces, I still keep going back for more.

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger is released on 18 March 2011.

Aww I know what you mean. He had been on a great streak lately but this one was all sorts of messy.
Still, Lucy Punch and Naomi Watts are fabulous!

This one got away from me, but I do plan on seeing it on DVD. I think your loyalty to Allen is commendable, not masochistic. He has earned the attention of real movie-lovers, and he has done so much good work that he can be forgiven a lapse here or there. I'm right there with you Ben!

You Will Meet a Predictable Boring Film

Oh, great, a mix of points of view. That's what I like to hear.

Messy and predictable - can't wait.

Tom - the lapses are more than te good ones these das and that's the issue. Mind you it must be better than his last movie - it must be.

Yeah...nothing compares to his best through the '70's and '80's. But there's still so much treasure to be found in his body of work. His "misses" to me are more interesting than the "hits" of lots of filmmakers.

Just a few days to go. Early British reviews are so-so, but it's still favourite for film of the week.
