Happy Birthday to
Janet Suzman
72 today
South Africa born Suzman is best known for her stage work, including most of Shakespeare's heroines during her time with the RSC and a professional and personal pairing with Trevor Nunn which led to a number of Evening Standard awards. She's not had a significant film role since 1990's Nuns on the Run.

Suzman will figure prominently in my series NEXT year, a look back to Oscar, 1971. She snagged a spot in the Best Actress race in part due to a lack of good leading roles for women.
I thought she was a worthy "...Alexandra".
It's a baity movie too with a much bigger arc than "Nicolas...", I'll be tuning in to your forthcoming series with deep interest.
