If you thought yesterdays preview was short on substance then you'll hate number 14, the untitled Mike Liegh project.
Leigh has directed some of the most insightful movies of the last 30 years, showing a real reflection of UK society with it's fussy middle classes and downtrodden working class. His last 2 productions (Vera Drake and Happy-go-Lucky) have garnered acclaim and award hauls for thier central performances, even though you could not imagine characters any further apart emotionally.
With this project he's reuniting with some of his most accomplished stars, including Imelda Staunton, Jim Broadbent and Lesley Manville.
As yet there are no details available with regards to the plot - Leigh's signature style of developing the characters and story thorugh improvisation and discussion means there probably wasn't a story until the cameras started rolling - but I'm sure we'll hear more as it rolls into cinemas towards the end of the year.
