I'll admit that Clint Eastwood's Nelson mandela biopic (of sorts) is looking as stodgy as hell, and the word from the US is that it manages to take one of the most inspirational figures of the 20th century and sucks the life out of them. Nevertheless it is required viewing, if only to see 20 minutes of Matt Damon hugging other guys legs...

as bad as expected.
actually, not awful, but the direction and screenplay are pretty laughable. really. Morgan is the best thing about it, but not that great himself.
you get everything: cheese(y), screenplay solutions, big speaches, manly men, historical inaccuracy, slow moving, fake tension and all put in a predictable bag.
among my biggest Oscar wishes: NO nominations for Screenplay & Director. and Matt Damon is in, even though he does NOT deserve it.
