The current holder of the Best Actor Oscar reaches another year older today; and probably spending the day with the family. I recently watched Milk again, and his performance is really something, the final lines still ringing in my ears. "You gotta give 'em hope."

Isn't he divorced already?
I remember him as being quite great in Milk, but I wanted Mickey to win, as he gave a more unexpectedly good performance
It's been getting divorced, not getting divorced, getting divorced, not getting divorced over the past 3-4 years.
As I understand it he's taken the year off (including cancelling the Three Stooges) in order to save the marriage.
I've not seen Benjamin Button yet, so I still haven't made up my mind about last years Oscars, however I think I'd go along with you and vote for Mickey. Both fantastic performances, mind. Difficult choice to make.

as you might've noticed, MANY people around here hate it or find it a total lack of emotion.
I LOVED it, because is visually stunning, perfectly directed and I adore the leading pairing. It was actually my #2 for last year in general and my #1 from the BP lineup, by far.
So, once you'll see it, you'll have to pick one corner or another.
